THE EXCEL CENTER (FOR ADULTS)

Located at 1015 Norwood Park Boulevard in Austin, Texas, The Excel Center (For Adults) is an open, independent charter district dedicated to providing tuition-free high school education tailored to adult learners. Operating across seven operational schools within the greater Austin-Round Rock-San Marcos metropolitan area—and positioned in a rural fringe community setting—the district focuses exclusively on high school education, serving students from 9th through 12th grade. Designed to offer adult students a second chance at earning a high school diploma, the district combines rigorous academic coursework with flexible programming to help non-traditional learners transition into higher education or rewarding careers.

The district supports a vibrant and diverse community of 1,196 enrolled students, reflecting a rich demographic makeup that includes 701 Hispanic, 261 Black, 161 White, and 46 Asian students, alongside American Indian, Pacific Islander, and multiracial peers. To foster student persistence and success, The Excel Center maintains a comprehensive, highly supportive staffing framework. The district is powered by approximately 111 full-time equivalent (FTE) teachers working alongside 128 FTE support staff members, creating a total workforce of nearly 239 dedicated professionals. This strong balance of instructional and support staff ensures that adult learners receive both academic instruction and essential wraparound support services throughout their educational journey.
