GENESEE EARLY COLLEGE

Genesee Early College is a public high school that is part of the Carman-Ainsworth Community Schools school district, located in Flint, MI with about 192 students offering grade levels from 9th Grade to 12th Grade.

Genesee Early College (GEC) is a unique, five-year public high school located on the campus of the University of Michigan-Flint. Designed as an early/middle college program, it allows students to earn both their high school diploma and up to two years of transferable college credit—or an associate degree—simultaneously. By integrating a rigorous high school curriculum with actual university coursework, the school aims to bridge the gap between secondary and higher education, providing students with a head start on their professional or academic careers at no cost to families.
