GATEWAY TO COLLEGE AT HOLYOKE COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Gateway to College at Holyoke Community College is a Title I public high school that is part of the Springfield school district, located in Holyoke, MA with about 26 students offering grade levels from 10th Grade to 12th Grade. A Title I school provides supplemental financial assistance to school districts for children from low-income families. Its purpose is to provide all children significant opportunity to receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education.

The Gateway to College program at Holyoke Community College (HCC) is a specialized educational initiative designed for students aged 16–21 who have dropped out of high school or are significantly off-track for graduation. Operated in partnership with the Springfield Public Schools, the program allows students to complete their high school diplomas while simultaneously earning college credits. By embedding high school students within a genuine community college environment, the program provides a unique bridge that fosters academic recovery and prepares participants for long-term success in higher education or the workforce.

The program is uniquely structured to provide intensive support services to help students navigate the transition to college-level academics. Participants work with dedicated advisors to create personalized learning plans, focusing on both the core requirements needed to graduate high school and introductory college coursework.
