Opportunity Middle College

School Overview
Opportunity Middle College (OMC), located on the campus of Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) in Lexington, is a unique educational partnership between Fayette County Public Schools and BCTC. Designed specifically for high school juniors and seniors who are looking for an alternative academic setting, the school allows students to complete their high school graduation requirements while simultaneously earning college credits. This dual-enrollment model provides a bridge between high school and higher education, offering students an early start on their post-secondary goals in a supportive, adult-oriented environment.

The program is particularly beneficial for students who may be seeking a non-traditional path, want to accelerate their college education, or prefer the independence of a college campus atmosphere. By integrating high school coursework with authentic college-level classes, OMC helps students build the time management and self-advocacy skills necessary for long-term academic success. Ultimately, the school aims to empower students by providing them with the resources, mentorship, and academic opportunities needed to successfully transition into degree programs or professional careers.
