In May 2022, ROBB ELementary became the site of a tragic school shooting, which resulted in the loss of 19 students and two teachers. Following this national tragedy, the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District made the decision to permanently close the campus. The building remained standing for a period as the community navigated the grieving and recovery process, and the district has since transitioned to new educational facilities to ensure the safety and well-being of its students and staff.
