Lighthouse Academy

Lighthouse Academy is an open, independent charter district headquartered at 3300 36th St SE in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Situated within a small city environment in the Grand Rapids-Wyoming-Kentwood metropolitan region, the district functions as its own local educational agency for federal programs and oversees nine operational schools. Designed to offer comprehensive educational opportunities spanning from Kindergarten through 12th grade, Lighthouse Academy provides tailored academic pathways within a structured community framework.

Currently serving a total enrollment of 404 students, the district features a vibrant and diverse student body comprising 183 Black, 120 White, 66 Hispanic, 26 multiracial, 7 Asian, 1 American Indian, and 1 Pacific Islander student, with an enrollment balance of 289 male and 115 female students concentrated primarily in the secondary grade levels. To support academic achievement and holistic development, Lighthouse Academy maintains a well-resourced staff environment totaling over 205 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees. This dedicated team includes approximately 85 full-time equivalent teachers, 8 instructional aides, and over 111 support staff FTEs, reflecting a strong organizational commitment to individualized attention and wrap-around educational support.
