Wausau Area Virtual Education

Wausau Area Virtual Education (WAVE) is an online public charter school serving students in grades 6–12 within the Wausau School District in Wisconsin. The program is designed to provide a flexible, personalized learning environment that allows students to complete their coursework remotely while still benefiting from the academic oversight and resources of the Wausau School District. By utilizing a robust digital curriculum, WAVE caters to students who may need a non-traditional setting to balance personal commitments, athletic pursuits, or specific learning preferences that are not met in a conventional classroom environment.

Despite the virtual nature of the instruction, WAVE maintains a focus on community and support by providing students with access to licensed educators and school counselors.
