North Carolina Cyber Academy

NC Connections Academy (NCCA) is a tuition-free, online public school serving students across North Carolina in grades K–12. Operating as a virtual charter school, it provides a flexible educational alternative to traditional brick-and-mortar classrooms, allowing students to learn from home while following a structured, state-certified curriculum. The program is designed to accommodate a wide variety of learners, including those who need a more personalized pace, students with scheduling conflicts due to extracurricular activities, or those seeking a safer or more focused environment outside of a traditional school setting.

The school emphasizes a partnership between state-certified teachers, parents (acting as "Learning Coaches"), and students. Teachers provide instruction through live virtual sessions and individualized support, while the curriculum—developed by Pearson—is delivered through an interactive digital platform. In addition to rigorous academic coursework, NCCA offers a range of clubs, social activities, and college and career readiness resources to ensure students remain engaged and connected to a school community despite the virtual nature of their studies.
