Governor's School of Southside Virginia

The Governor’s School of Southside Virginia (GSSV) is a specialized, regional academic program designed to provide advanced educational opportunities for high-achieving high school students in Southside Virginia. Operating as a partnership between local school divisions and Southside Virginia Community College, the program functions as a "school within a school." It allows gifted and motivated students to engage in a rigorous, college-level curriculum that emphasizes critical thinking, interdisciplinary study, and research-based learning, often granting participants both high school and college credit simultaneously.

Located in Keysville, the GSSV serves as a hub for academic enrichment, fostering a collaborative environment where students from diverse backgrounds can explore STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields, humanities, and leadership development.
