OPPORTUNITY YOUTH REENGAGEMENT

Opportunity Youth Reengagement is a Title I public high school that is part of the Walla Walla Public Schools school district, located in Walla Walla, WA with about 26 students offering grade levels from 11th Grade to 12th Grade. A Title I school provides supplemental financial assistance to school districts for children from low-income families. Its purpose is to provide all children significant opportunity to receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education.

The **Opportunity Youth Reengagement** program, located on East Isaacs Avenue in Walla Walla, is a specialized educational initiative designed to support young people who have disconnected from the traditional K-12 school system. The program functions as a bridge for students—typically between the ages of 16 and 21—who have dropped out or are at significant risk of doing so. By offering a flexible and supportive environment, the program focuses on helping these students earn their high school diplomas or GEDs while overcoming the personal, social, or academic hurdles that previously hindered their progress.

Beyond basic academics, the program acts as a vital community resource by connecting students with career training, life skills development, and post-secondary planning. Recognizing that "one size does not fit all," the staff at this facility emphasize individualized learning plans and personalized mentorship to help students regain confidence and transition into the workforce or higher education. Ultimately, the Opportunity Youth Reengagement program serves as a critical safety net in the Walla Walla school district, dedicated to ensuring that all young adults have a second chance to reach their full potential.
