Youngstown Early College (YEC), located on the campus of Youngstown State University in Fedor Hall, is a unique public school partnership between the Youngstown City School District and Youngstown State University. The institution is designed as an "early college" high school, which allows students to earn both a high school diploma and an associate degree or a significant amount of transferable college credit simultaneously, at no cost to the students or their families.

The school is specifically structured to provide a rigorous academic environment for students who might be traditionally underrepresented in higher education. By immersing students in a university setting early in their academic careers, YEC aims to bridge the gap between high school and college, fostering a culture of college readiness, personal responsibility, and academic ambition.
