School Overview

Vance County Early College (VCEC) is an innovative public high school located in Henderson, North Carolina, operating in partnership with Vance-Granville Community College. Designed as an accelerated academic program, the school allows students to pursue a rigorous high school curriculum while simultaneously earning college credits. This unique structure provides students the opportunity to graduate with both a high school diploma and an Associate’s degree, or significant transferable college credit, at no cost to the students or their families.

The school emphasizes a supportive, small-learning environment that fosters critical thinking, college readiness, and personal responsibility. By blending secondary education with a collegiate experience, VCEC prepares students for the transition to four-year universities or the professional workforce earlier than traditional high school models.
