CHALLENGER EARLY COLLEGE HIGH SCHOOL

Challenger Early College High is a Title I public high school that is part of the Catawba County Schools school district, located in Hickory, NC with about 411 students offering grade levels from 9th Grade to 12th Grade. A Title I school provides supplemental financial assistance to school districts for children from low-income families. Its purpose is to provide all children significant opportunity to receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education. Designed as a “cooperative innovative high school,” it offers a unique educational model that allows students to pursue a rigorous high school curriculum while simultaneously completing college-level coursework. The school’s primary objective is to provide a seamless transition to higher education, often enabling students to graduate with both a high school diploma and an Associate’s degree, or significant transferable college credit, at little to no cost to their families.
