Its purpose is to provide all children significant opportunity to receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education.

NEW CONNECTIONS is a specialized educational program operating under the umbrella of Independent School District 196 (Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan). Located in Apple Valley, Minnesota, the program is designed to serve students who require a more individualized, supportive, and structured environment than what is typically found in a traditional high school setting. It focuses on helping students overcome academic or behavioral challenges by fostering a smaller, more intimate learning community that prioritizes personal growth and credit recovery.

The program emphasizes a holistic approach to student success, integrating academic instruction with social-emotional support to help students meet graduation requirements. By leveraging the resources of District 196 while providing the specialized attention of a smaller campus, NEW CONNECTIONS aims to re-engage students in their education, build their confidence, and prepare them for post-secondary opportunities. The school’s environment is intended to be a safe, focused space where students can bridge gaps in their learning and gain the skills necessary to achieve their educational goals.
