ACTS (Alternative Center for Therapeutic Services) is an alternative educational program located in Thonotosassa, Florida, operating under the jurisdiction of the Hillsborough County Public Schools (SDHC) district. The facility is designed to serve students who require a specialized, supportive environment that goes beyond the traditional classroom setting. By focusing on therapeutic interventions alongside academic instruction, the program aims to help students overcome behavioral, social, or emotional barriers that may have hindered their success in a conventional school environment.
The mission of ACTS centers on providing a structured setting that fosters both academic progress and personal development. Because it is part of the larger Hillsborough County school system, the program aligns its curriculum with district standards while tailoring its delivery to meet the unique needs of its specific student population. Through its collaborative approach to education and behavioral support, the center strives to re-engage students in their learning, ultimately preparing them for a successful transition back to a traditional school setting or into further vocational and academic pursuits.
