P.S. 182, officially known as the Samantha Smith School, is a public elementary school located in the Jamaica neighborhood of Queens, New York. It is named in honor of Samantha Smith, the American schoolgirl who became a global symbol of peace during the Cold War after writing a letter to Soviet leader Yuri Andropov.
