P.S. 182, officially known as the Samantha Smith School, is a public elementary school located in the Jamaica neighborhood of Queens, New York. Serving students from prekindergarten through fifth grade, the school is part of the New York City Department of Education’s District 28. It is named in honor of Samantha Smith, the American schoolgirl who became a global symbol of peace during the Cold War after writing a letter to Soviet leader Yuri Andropov.
