The Experiential School of Greensboro

The Experiential School of Greensboro (TESG) is a public charter school that distinguishes itself through a commitment to “learning by doing.” Serving students in grades K–8, the school utilizes the EL Education (formerly Expeditionary Learning) model, which emphasizes rigorous academic standards paired with character development and community engagement. Instead of traditional lecture-based instruction, students participate in long-term, interdisciplinary "expeditions" that connect classroom curriculum to real-world issues, often involving field research, community partnerships, and hands-on projects that encourage critical thinking and active problem-solving.
